What You Are Looking At

Every photograph below is a job our team painted. Each one is labelled with the city it is in and the month the work was done. The oldest is from October 2016; the most recent is from January 2026.

12 of the 21 photographs show masking, sheeting, taping and spraying rather than a finished room. Those are the ones worth looking at closely. Covering a countertop, bagging a tap, papering a ceiling line and sheeting a window is not paint, and none of it is visible once the furniture goes back — but it is what decides whether the edges come out straight and whether the finish is still sound years later.

What the Preparation Shots Show

In the Folsom kitchen, plastic is taped over every cabinet front, the range hood is covered, the island and countertops are sheeted, and paper is laid across the floor. In the Granite Bay room with the vaulted ceiling, sheeting runs from the floor to the ceiling line, paper is taped around the beams, and an extension ladder is set for the high section. On the Citrus Heights balcony, the garden furniture is wrapped and drop cloths are down across the concrete underneath.

Our painters wear respirators on the spraying jobs — you can see that on the Granite Bay staircase and on the Rocklin eaves. Spraying is what gets cabinet doors and balusters to a finish with no brush marks in it, and it is also what makes masking non-negotiable: whatever is not covered gets coated.

The exterior photographs show the other half of the work. On the Roseville garage doors, primer is patched over the filled areas before any colour goes on. On the Fair Oaks stairs, the old white paint is flaking off in sheets and the handrail, posts and treads are back to bare grey wood. That is the condition that decides how much preparation a quote has to include, and it is why the owner looks at the surfaces himself rather than pricing from a square-footage form.

Where We Paint

Our team is based in Granite Bay and works across Placer County and the Sacramento area. Each of these cities has a page of its own:

A map of California and the neighbouring states with a red paintbrush stroke across it, lettered "Serving Sacramento and Placer County and surrounding areas".

The same work, by kind:

Getting a Quote

The owner quotes every job. He walks the property before giving a number, because what moves the price is what you can see in these photographs: the state the surfaces are in, and how much of the work is preparation rather than paint.

OP Painting has been painting homes in the Sacramento area since 2008 and holds California contractor licence #1118200.
